Ginger Honey Syrup
A simple remedy for cold season, digestion support, and everyday comfort.
Why make this?
This syrup brings together two powerful natural ingredients raw unpasteurized honey and fresh ginger, both known for their long-standing place in herbal and clinical traditions. But here's the thing: it's actually palatable. Good enough that you'll take it willingly, even daily. It's a refreshing departure from the "tastes terrible but it works" remedies we're used to choking down. This one tastes good and works, which means you'll actually use it consistently instead of letting it sit in the back of the fridge.
🍯 Raw Honey
Canoe Cove Honey is raw, unpasteurized, and harvested with care on Prince Edward Island. It contains naturally occurring enzymes, antioxidants, and antimicrobial compounds that can help soothe sore throats, ease coughing, and support overall immune function. There's actually research backing up what grandmothers have known forever: honey really does help with coughs and sore throats. A 2020 review looked at 14 studies and found it worked better than standard care for easing cold symptoms, especially that persistent cough that keeps everyone awake (Abuelgasim, Albury & Lee, 2020).
🌿 Ginger
Ginger root is a warming digestive herb used for centuries to calm nausea, reduce inflammation, stimulate appetite, and support immune resilience. When simmered into a potent infusion, it delivers both flavour and function.
Together, they create a multifunctional syrup that’s delicious enough to use daily and supportive enough to keep on hand for cold season.
How to Use It
When managing illness:
- Stir into warm (not boiling) tea to soothe throats and support recovery
- Take by the spoonful for lingering coughs or sore throats
- Add to warm water with lemon for added hydration

- Take a spoonful before eating if appetite is low
Everyday Enjoyment:

Pro tip:
Freeze your syrup in silicone trays to keep potent cubes on hand—easy to pop into tea, sparkling water, or sick-day remedies.
